<lj:music>Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith</lj:music>

Last week I was so excited that I had a three day weekend coming, I planned to get so much done despite the fact that we had a ton of things to do for the kids. Well Saturday it worked well, after the city cross country meet, the oldest and hubby went camping with scouts and I went home with the little one. I cleaned out and rearranged the kids' rooms, scrubbed their bathroom in preparation for the in laws moving in next week (They sold the house my husband grew up in and still have a few weeks until the new one is finished being built), did laundry, and cleaned the first floor. I was exhausted but felt good.

Got up Sunday and after we went to church, finished up a bit of cleaning here, made lunch and there before running out to do errands. That's where my weekend went downhill, after picking up some things at Sam's, went to the car and nothing. It just wouldn't stop. Hubby came and got me while the tow truck took the car to the garage, which was closing for the day.

So today I was going to go have the little one's pictures taken for a 1/4 of the price of the pictures at his preschool and then we were going to have lunch with hubby but the car being out of commission screwed that up. And it didn't help when the garage called to tell me it was my fuel pump.

Now I'm in no mood to do anything, but also feeling very restless, tired, and bored. I know if I go and start cleaning out the guest room, I'll be in a better mood but I just can't get my butt up to do it. And I'm in no mood to write.

I guess I'll go work on the laundry, maybe I'll feel like doing more.

I am currently working on three Roswell X-overs. One I am posting on Roswell Fanatics but two of them are still being worked on but I wanted to post the banners so that I could share them and maybe get people excited.

This is a story that obviously is a Roswell/Supernatural X-over. It's a rewrite of Route 666, but instead of Dean meeting Cassie, he met Liz.

This one is a x-over story with Roswell/Smallville. Set after Ch-ch-changes, Liz runs into problems with her powers and she realizes that her powers aren't a hinderance.

EDIT: I forgot to give credit where it's due. I did not make the banners, RoswellOracle did. Isn't she awesome?

Wanted: Your thoughts on kids starting school early

My youngest son just turned four in February. Like most second kids, he has grown up faster than his older brother and has always seemed to my husband and I that he was advanced for his age. Course we always thought it was because we're his parents and therefore biased.

In January, over a month before his birthday we realized that we hadn't had conference with his three year old teacher for some time due to his old one retiring so I asked for one. The teacher had nothing but glowing things to say about his progress and that she tried to do what she could to give him extra stuff to keep him stimulated. She also said that if she could have, he would have moved from the three year old room to the four year old room a couple of months before. So you can imagine how happy we were when he was four and he could move to the next room.

Well now, 3 months later and lately when he gets up to go to school he complains. He says "It's boring..." After discussing it with my husband, I talked to his teacher this afternoon when I went to pick him up. I asked if she had noticed that he was bored lately. She agreed quickly that he did seem bored. That when they completed their lessons, he already knew things beyond what they had just worked on and we talked at length about it.

So I mentioned that his older brother goes to private school and they are more lax about the minimum birthdate (In Indiana, a kid has to be 5 by August 1st to enroll in kindergarten at a public school)if the kid can test that they are on the same level as the five year olds going in. She said that I should definitely get him tested.

Our concern of course is that he'll be the youngest of his class if we do it and if we don't do it that he'll continue to be bored and end up holding him back. We can keep working with him at home but he'll still be bored during the day.

Have any of you been in this kind of situation before or known people who have? What were the experiences like?

It was pouring down rain and I kept thinking about how I was going to walk three and a half blocks with no umbrella. Suddenly the elevator stopped and we were stuck! We were there for a half an hour before we could get out.

We were laughing about it the whole time. I knew we wouldn't be there long but I was worried at how long it would be because I only had so long before my sons' preschool and summer camps closed.
After watching this last week's episode, I want to ask my friends who also watch Battlestar Galactica their opinion on the human/cylon alliance they've been pushing so much as well as Earth:

After the last episode, my hubby and I were talking about how the show has definitely been pushing the idea that neither the cylons nor humans will be able to live on their own anymore. However, we liked my idea better on how the forced alliance should have been handled.

What if when they arrived on Earth, the thirteenth tribe was not the wasteland it turned out to be but a thriving planet full of cylons like it was present to be before it was nuked? Then the humans would be stuch with the decision to either stay on Earth or continue living on the ships and possibly looking for another habitable planet?

I think them being on Earth surrounded by cylons would be more interesting then the present storyline of killing the Bucket.

I have two ideas which I need your help with:

#1 Cake has multiple facets of me in it, my love of Disney especially the parks, my fanfiction writing, my love of reading, cooking, my addiction to Mt. Dew and my love of sci-fi.

#2 Just doing my love of Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Supernatural

Now what I need from you guys is this: I have a list of sci-fi shows and movies that I love.
I have a few ideas already but I'd love better ones.

Roswell-Whirlwind symbol
Dark Angel-Barcode
Buffy-Stake
Supernatural-Rock salt & shotgun maybe an impala
Stargate SG-1-chevron symbol for Earth
Stargate Atlantis (Especially with an implication of Ronon/Keller)
Star Wars
Smallville (Mainly just Chloe)
X-men-Xmen symbol
Firefly-Serenity symbol
Battlestar Gallactica
Wolf Lake
Chronicles of Narnia

What would you do right now, if money were not an issue?
I would book a nice big vacation (Probably to Disney) with all of the trimings.

2. What would you do for the next three years, if money were not an issue?
Listen to the advice of my family and go to Culinary school

3. What is bringing you the most joy right now that requires little or no money?
Normally I would say my boys but at this moment I have to say my bathtub full of hot water because it's cold outside, I'm sick and my back has been killing me for days.

4. What types of things do you find enjoyable that require no money?
Reading my library books

5.
Stupid Husband

So I get off work today, get to the parking lot to my car and see that there is about 1/2-1 inch of ice on my windshield. No biggie, I knew it had been coming down for the last few hours. So I toss my bag inside, start the car and start digging for one of my scrapers.

And I keep digging and digging and digging. I couldn't find one anywhere which is really really weird because I always have 2-4 in my car. And they are all gone. So I grabbed my cell and called my husband to tell him what is going on so he can pick up our son who I was supposed to get.

I tell him what is going on and he's like:

"Yeah, I took them out when we went on vacation."

"WTF? Why?"

"Because I was cleaning them out before the roadtrip and making space."

"They are 3" wide! And the longest one is like 6" how much damn space could they take up?"

"Well you had like 3 in there."

"For circumstances like this! I never know when I will need stuff, that's why I have extra sweatshirts and Sunblock in my car!"

Then in a huffy voice he said, "I'm going to get off here if I'm just going to be yell at."

I hung up with him and I was, "You Dumba$$, of course I'm going to yell at you."

So between the defrost on my car and the plastic Pie server I found in my car, I was able to scrape off the ice and got home in 60 what should have taken 20.

I think I'm about to stop watching a few of my shows, Smallville & Stargate Atlantis, and just live in fanfiction land.

Cut for spoilers First on Smallville they take the most interesting character that they have Chloe Sullivan and erase her memories! They let Clark play God and decide that she was safer not knowing. This was after the avoided pairing her with the intelligent men on the show who I'd love to see her with, Lex, Oliver and lately Davis Bloom and pair them with other people. WTF?

Then on Atlantis, they created the stupidest love triangle ever and then paired the girl with the one who she would never pick. WTF?

I usually never give up on a show, I watched Roswell, Alias, etc until they burned themselves into the ground. But I'm seriously thinking of stopping.

I thought about putting this on a Supernatural community but don't know if it's allowed. I do know that a lot of people on my friends list watch Supernatural so I thought I'd ask you guys.

Have you ever seen something on Supernatural that either happened in your home town or could have been based on something very similiar in your town?

For example:

The other day, my husband handed me a section of our city newspaper and said that he thought I'd like to read one of the articles in it. It was called Grisly Indy (We live in Indianapolis, IN) and it was about various murders that had happened in the city that were famous and have been said to lead to hauntings. I knew we had Dillenger, new we had DC Stephenson but what I wasn't expecting to read was this

<italics>Dr. H.H. Holmes house 5811 Julian Ave., Indianapolis

In one of the most bizarre and gruesome serial killer cases with a local connection, H.H. Holmes, also known as Herman W. Mudgett, confessed to killing 27 people across the country before he was hanged in 1896. The actual number may be much higher.

Holmes owned a large hotel on Chicago's South Side that eventually was found to have secret passages, sliding doors and an "operating room." He may have been responsible for hundreds of meticulous murders.

Holmes had struck a deal with Benjamin Pitezel to fake the latter's death to collect $10,000 in insurance money, but killed him anyway in an explosion in Philadelphia, duped Pitezel's widow out of the money, and talked her into giving him custody of her daughters, Alice and Nellie, and son Howard.

A Philadelphia detective followed Holmes in the U.S. and Canada, finding the decomposed bodies of the Pitezel girls in Toronto. He tracked Holmes to Indianapolis, where he had rented a small cottage. Holmes reportedly visited a local pharmacy to buy the drugs he used to kill Howard Pitezel, and a repair shop to sharpen the knives he would use to cut up the body before burning it. The boy's teeth and charred bits of bone were found in the home's chimney.

Holmes' grim exploits were chronicled in Erik Larsen's 2003 book, "The Devil in the White City." Today, the property is owned by two women who claim to share their house with a playful spirit; the neighbors, though, have told Alan Hunter, coauthor of "Irvington Haunts," that an evil presence lurks outside. </italics>

Anyone else have something similiar?
